
Kesewaa ('11) Joins DiCo on Staff at AFBHS after Graduating Yale

Former debater Kesewaa Boateng (class of 2011) finished up her college career at Yale University where she majored in Film Studies and joined DiCo on staff at Achievement First Brooklyn High School as a Teacher-in-Residence in 9th Grade Composition. Kesewaa was the first student in DiCo's career to ever advance to elimination rounds at a national tournament (she was a quarter-finalist at Harvard in 2010.) In the 2016-17 school year, she stepped up as the World History teacher for 10th grade. (While of course helping coach the team!)
Jazly ('12) Wins Fulbright After Graduating from Harvard

Jazly Liriano (former debater, class of 2012) graduated from Harvard College with bachelor of arts in Human Evolutionary Biology and a language citation in Portuguese. She will also have licenses to teach middle and high school biology and middle school general science in the state of Massachusetts. Her Fulbright project is researching a teacher education program in Salvador, Brazil to learn about how it prepares teachers to address issues of race and class in schools.
